Statement as of 2:51 PM CST on January 07, 2009 ... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon... A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Thursday evening through Friday afternoon. Snow will move into eastern North Dakota and adjacent portions of western Minnesota Thursday evening... and continue into Friday. There is the potential for 6 or more inches of snowfall. Winds during most of the snowfall will not be strong... but they will increase from a northerly direction at 20 to 25 mph by Friday afternoon causing some blowing and drifting snow. The exact track of this storm system is still uncertain... so stay tuned to later forecasts. A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts. Dk
