High Surf Advisory
Statement as of 2:51 PM EDT on March 15, 2010
... High surf advisory remains in effect from 2 am Tuesday to 6 am
EDT Wednesday from Cape Hatteras north...
A high surf advisory remains in effect from 2 am Tuesday to 6 am
EDT Wednesday.
North winds will increase to 20 to 30 knots along the coast later
tonight and Tuesday. These gusty winds will build seas to 7 to 10
feet from late tonight through Tuesday. The large seas will
result in rough surf along the beaches from Cape Hatteras north.
Seas will very slowly subside Tuesday night and Wednesday as winds
diminish.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing dangerous rip currents and
localized beach erosion.
