Statement as of 2:40 PM EST on January 07, 2009 ... Wind Advisory remains in effect until midnight EST tonight... A Wind Advisory remains in effect until midnight EST tonight. Strong southwest winds will continue tonight at 25 to 35 mph with gusts as high as 45 mph possible behind the cold front. Winds will slowly begin to shift to the west as the front moves across area. A Wind Advisory means that winds of 31 to 39 mph with higher gusts are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

	Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 5:16 PM EST on January 07, 2009 ... Showers with strong wind gusts possible through 630 PM... A line of light to moderate rain showers will move into Duplin County by 530 PM and into Lenoir... Onslow and Jones counties by 6 PM. These showers will be capable of producing strong wind gusts between 40 and 50 mph as they move across the area. The strong winds may result in sporadic power outages along with the possibility of shallow rooted trees being knocked down.
