... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 am CST /5 am MST/
Thursday to 6 PM CST /5 PM MST/ Friday...
The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow. The precipitation may
begin as freezing rain on Thursday before changing over to snow
Thursday evening into Friday. The advisory is in effect from 6 am
CST /5 am MST/ Thursday to 6 PM CST /5 PM MST/ Friday.
An approaching low pressure system has the potential to bring
another three to five inches of snow to south central and portions
of west central North Dakota by Friday morning. There is also
potential for freezing rain or sleet Thursday morning through
Thursday evening. In addition... strong northerly winds behind this
storm system will produce considerable blowing and drifting snow
late Thursday night through Friday... which will significantly
reduce visibilities and create near blizzard conditions.
Those planning travel across western and central North Dakota
Thursday and Friday are encouraged to reconsider. If it is
absolutely necessary to travel... ensure that your vehicle is
equipped with a winter survival kit and advise others of your
travel plans.
