... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 3 am Thursday to 6 PM CST
Friday...
The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for a wintry mix of freezing rain... followed by heavy
snow and blowing snow... which is in effect from 3 am Thursday to
6 PM CST Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
An approaching low pressure system has the potential to bring
another five to seven inches of heavy snow to northwestern North
Dakota by Friday morning. There is also potential for freezing
rain or sleet Thursday morning through Thursday evening. In
addition... strong northerly winds behind this storm system will
produce considerable blowing and drifting snow late Thursday night
through Friday... which will significantly reduce visibilities and
create blizzard conditions.
Those planning travel across western and central North Dakota
Thursday and Friday are encouraged to reconsider. If it is
absolutely necessary to travel... ensure that your vehicle is
equipped with a winter survival kit and advise others of your
travel plans.
