No Tea For Me

First let me say that I am not an expert on climate change. I only know that our temperatures are getting warmer and if they continue to do so we will all have to change what is "normal" for us. So, I do not know for certain that this warming trend is manmade or a natural recurring cycle and that nothing man can do will change what will happen.

The reason I mention this is that Climate Change, or better stated, the lack thereof is a hot topic among the far right. It's one of their ten commandments, "Thou shalt not believe man can harm the earth, especially if it derives a profit for mankind (mankind meaning, white, protestant, straight American male).

It's obvious that they don't understand the data they cut and paste as the following graph that has been tearing up the right wing websites so glaringly shows.

This is the graph they are touting proves Climate Change does not exist as finally in 6 years, late in the season, accumulated ice mass hits average.

I find it scary that people who call themselves educated would use this graph to disprove climate change as basic math principles show in this graph that in the last 6 years including this year, sea ice has been less than normal. Note that even this year if sea ice ends the season at normal for 60 percent of the season sea ice was below normal. Also, remember back to high school math and averaging that whatever number was average basically half the numbers would be above it and half would be below. Note that none of the last 6 years is above average which would mean temperatures have been warmer than average.

Oh well, common sense and the far right rarely meet.

When you read articles about the far right that show scientific proof they're prone to rascist thoughts and actions, it's a funny piece. That is, until we come to a climate where they feel it is socially accpetable to publicly spew their hate. Then it's quite sad.Levitt Triumphs Over Hate at GOP DebateDavid Levitt and other US Senate candidates for the California primary attended a Get to Know Your Candidates event on May 3rd, hosted by the San Mateo GOP at the Amer...

The far right love to claim that Obama is to Blame for the desperate increase in public debt held by our country. Even though graph after graph, facts after fact show this not to be the case. In that light I expect more facts and common sense to change little of their neanderthal beliefs because when all is said in done we will still have a President who is black and that is unacceptable to them. The following graphs will show, it wasn't bailouts nor a recession end...

It's not that the left or the middle is making this election cycle about women. The right is doing it and the outcome they want would put women as lesser than men. Take some time to read studies of the fears of the middle aged anglo male and what is being done by the far right will not surprise you. It's a shame but this isn't the Republican Party of the Reagan era. It's a very sad state of affairs indeed.
